For generations, the seter property of Gammelseterhaugen has been part of the long tradition of moving sheep, cattle and goats to grazing land in the summer for the animals to get fattened up and produce more milk. Today, modern farming has changed this practise. However, some farmers still send their livestock to seters and particularly goats enjoy three months of open grazing in the summer. You will meet many of them around Gammelseterhaugen.

The small seter house where women would look after the animals and make butter and cheese can still be seen on the property, but from 2015 to 2020 a new property was built based entirely on Norwegian crafts and traditions. With a total of 260 sqm living space and about 40 sqm wardrobe/storage space as well as a fantastic spa, the property is perfect for big families or groups of friends looking for the ideal adventure - winter or summer. Or maybe even for celebrating af special occasion. The 4 lodges have room enough for 22 guests spending the night.

The seter is sheltered from traffic and has a large field area in the middle, which is perfect for children to play and ski. It's only a short way to the cross-country track, and you can enjoy ski in/ski out from the lover level of the main lodge via a skiing track with a small uphill slope of about 100 meters to the fabulous slopes of Kvitfjell.
